Womb digressions: between overexposed and hidden and shedding and scarring and being consciously lost is a collage of elements from Vita‘s work, in which they try to bridge the gaps between their embodied experience, the rigid health care system, and the collective political imaginary through which gendered bodies move.
Vita Evangelista works with digital media, writing and performance at the intersection of queer feminisms and embodied knowledge. Building on their search for auto-techno-‘poethic‘ narratives, their works are reflections on the material, embodied, and affective repercussions of epistemic violence, which urge decolonization.
Born in Brazil amid the ruins of a 21-year long authoritarian military dictatorship, they believe freedom must be a collective praxis or it is not.
